ATF eForm Submissions

Fast, efficient ATF application processing

Reduce your wait time from months to weeks

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) allows individuals and members of the firearms industry to file certain forms electronically through eForms.

Electronic filing is intended to be more efficient and accurate than paper applications and can help the ATF process submissions more quickly.

The process is simple

Once you register for an eFrom account on the ATF website, download and complete the eFrom application you want to submit.

KJD Notary and Digital Fingerprinting can do the rest!

Our experienced fingerprint technician will use our state-of-the-art technology to:

Capture your fingerprints

using our LiveScan digital fingerprint scanner. Depending on how you wish to file your eForm application, we will either print your fingerprints on FD-258 fingerprint cards, save them on an encrypted electronic file, or prepare them for transmission to the ATF for processing.

Transmit your application to the ATF

with our high-speed technology. As an authorized partner with the ATF, we can transmit your fingerprints and eForm application to the ATF for you. Your information can be received for processing in as little as 3-48 hours.

Once transmitted, you can monitor your application on the portal you created on the ATF website.

FAQs

Which ATF forms can be submitted electronically?

As of March 2022, Forms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6A, 9, 10, and 5300.11 are eligible for eForm submission.

On average, how long does it take the ATF to process an eForm submission?

While there is no way to guarantee a set processing time, the ATF reports a dramatic reduction in the time it takes to process eForms versus paper applications.

For example, paper applications for Forms 2, 3, 5, and 9 averaged 30–120 days to process, and Form 1 applications averaged 60 days. The average processing time for each of these applications as eFroms was just 10 days.

How can I track the status of my ATF eForm submission?

You can track the status of your ATF eForm submission by logging into your eForms account and checking the status of your application.

Once logged in, you can view the progress of your submission and receive updates on any changes in the processing status.
